Spring Adult Fiber Arts Camp 9 AM- Noon

Join me at my home studio in Kenmore, NY for five classes of Fiber Art crafting. Take some time for you, and seek out those good endorphins we get when we create. No prior skills are needed.

Fiber Arts Camp is my favorite camp on Earth! This camp is my dream camp. I love that so many adults have reached out saying that they want me to hold my children's camps for adults. We'll be working on the projects that I love to make and always feel these projects would be so much more fun doing them with others!

We have plenty of new projects, and we have camp staples that everyone loves. If you are returning for another year, you will be building upon their skills and working with new materials. As with any fiber arts project, each time you make something, it is different depending on the colors, materials, patterns, and added elements. So even if there are some repeated projects, there will not be repeated art!

We'll be creating beautiful wall hangings by weaving on a locally made frame loom with all different textures of yarn, wool and other materials.

We'll be doing a version of Needlepoint called Bargello. 

We'll have an introduction to Hand Embroidery, and learn several different stitches to create a piece of art. You are welcome to bring an item of clothing or an accessory that you'd like to embellish, or you can simply work on supplied fabric in a hoop. 

We will be making a traditional ornament using layered and fabric. 

We will have an introduction into Hand Sewing with a sweet little project. A skill that so many people wish they knew!

Another staple of the camp is Ice Dyeing. These results are mesmerizing each and every time. 

We will also have a few more projects that are not listed in this description and be able to work on them as time allows.

Please note: This is my second year holding a Fiber Arts Camp. Last year was a roaring success. As I introduce new skills to the class, I will be learning what works and what might be modified for next time. My goal is for you to take home truly beautiful works of art that you have proudly created. If some of the activities take longer than expected, we will make a game day decision on what to forgo. I value the quality of the activities over the quantity.

It is a comprehensive course deep diving into new skills and creating a finished piece of art in each content area. 

Please expect an email closer to the camp dates providing detailed instructions about location, arrival & dismissal procedures as well as items that campers should bring each day, etc. Most supplies will be included with the exception of an item to ice dye. There will also be a camp questionnaire that will be targeted to your color preferences that will guide me in selecting materials.
