Fiber Arts Camp August 5-9: 9am-noon, Ages 10-14

BY POPULAR DEMAND! We have a new session of Chickie Tail's Fiber Arts Camp!

Join me in my home studio in Kenmore, NY for a week full of Fiber Arts crafting.

Due to the nature of these projects, this Fiber Arts Camp is best suited to children ages 10-14. Being able to challenge themselves, stay focused, and have those fine motor skills will really work to their advantage. You know your child best. (I just want to be very clear on that so that your child will have the most success.)

Please note: This is my first summer holding a fiber arts camp, so I will be learning what works and what might be modified for next time. My goal is for your child to take home truly really beautiful works of art with quality materials that your child has proudly created. This camp is truly perfect for creative kids that want to up their exposure and skill sets in the Fiber Arts. 

This camp is my dream camp. We'll be working on some of my most favorite projects. These are the projects that I always wish I were doing alongside others. Below are some possibilities of what we will be making. We won't get to every dream item listed below, but we will base the projects of the week based on camper interest. 

We'll be creating beautiful wall hangings by weaving on a frame loom with all different textures of yarn and wool.

We'll be doing some hand stitching with beautiful colors and designs to create Bargello needlepoint bookmarks.

We'll be creating tumbling block illusions with fabric weaving (which is actually quite different than loom weaving).

We'll be experimenting with ice dyeing. These results are mesmerizing each and every time.

We'll add in a new twist on the oh so loved friendship bracelets.

We'll dabble in the classic hand embroidery. Working with needles isn't so scary after all.

Most supplies will be included. As the camp gets closer, I will send an email covering location, what to bring each day, etc.
